We took the 12 hour night bus which turned out to be more like 16 hours but we had treated ourselves to 'posh' seats... lots of recline and lots of leg room... only 9 'posh' seats in the downstairs... mmm... zzz... We crossed the border to Bolivia at around 8am Peru time, Wendy very excited!!! The place feels like home already...We took a taxi to the bus station to book tickets for Rurrenabaque tomorrow morning and then headed for one of the main plazas to eats, find a bed, and look around the amazingly interesting Witch Doctor market... lots of wierd stuff from lama feotuses, (said to keep evil spirits away from your house) to herbs and potions to heal a whole variety of ailments. Very colourful and the best market we have seen so far, even beat the seaside market of Mancora for Wendy! We will definately be doing our shopping here on the way back as the prices are unbeatable...We found a hostel on the same road as the market... lovely cobbles streets... great atmosphere... in fact James asleep right now having well deserved rest...
So onwards tomorrow to the jungle town of Rurrenabaque, 421 km away and a 18-20 hour bus ride... it´s gonna be humid and hot...which will be very different to the temperature in La Paz... very cold at night... thermals needed...
Bus ride from HELL! No words... but suffice to say... we gonna fly back to La Paz...
